No one should face diabetes alone.

Willow Rose Foundation for Diabetes is a volunteer-run Australian charity supporting families and individuals living with diabetes and coeliac disease — through local support networks, essential supplies, community events and awareness campaigns.

Practical, local support for every stage of the diabetes journey

A diabetes diagnosis changes life for the whole family. Our mission is to make sure no family in our community walks that road alone. We connect people living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes — and those managing coeliac disease — with peer support, essential supplies, education and technology, so they can live full, healthy and confident lives.

What we do

  • Local support & connection — regular meet-ups and social events where families affected by diabetes share experiences and build lasting friendships.
  • Diabetes Essential Packs — practical starter packs with supplies, low-treatment snacks and helpful information for newly diagnosed families.
  • Community fundraising — Bunnings sausage sizzles and local events that fund our programs and raise diabetes awareness.
  • Awareness & advocacy — campaigns that improve community understanding of diabetes and access to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology.

Diabetes affects the whole family

Almost 1.9 million Australians live with diabetes, and around 120,000 of them live with type 1 diabetes — a lifelong autoimmune condition that requires around-the-clock management. Behind every diagnosis is a family adjusting to finger pricks, carb counting, night-time checks and new routines.

Technology like continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) can be life-changing, but knowing what's available and how to access it isn't always easy. That's where community makes the difference — practical advice from people who live it every day.

Willow Rose Foundation exists to close that gap: real support, from real people, right here in our local community.
