We believe peer support is powerful medicine. Everything we do is designed to bring people together — because shared experience turns fear into confidence.
We're a small, volunteer-run charity with a big heart — built by families who live with diabetes every day, for families walking the same road.
Willow Rose Foundation for Diabetes began the way many good things do — with a family navigating a diagnosis and realising how much easier it could be with the right support around them.
When a child is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, parents are handed a huge amount of information in a very short time: insulin dosing, carbohydrate counting, hypo management, school care plans, technology choices. It's overwhelming. And once the hospital visits slow down, many families find themselves asking, "Who else understands this?"
We started Willow Rose to answer that question. Registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) in 2020, we've grown into a trusted local network in Melbourne's south-east — connecting families, providing practical essentials, and raising awareness of diabetes and the technology that makes managing it easier.
Our mission is to support Australian families and individuals living with diabetes and coeliac disease — through localised support services, social connection, awareness campaigns and improved access to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology.
We believe peer support is powerful medicine. Everything we do is designed to bring people together — because shared experience turns fear into confidence.
We focus on tangible support: supplies in hands, snacks in lunchboxes, information that actually helps. No jargon, no barriers, no cost to families.
As an ACNC-registered charity we report annually and operate with full transparency. We're 100% volunteer-run, so donated funds go directly to programs.
Type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes or coeliac disease — every journey is valid and every person is welcome at Willow Rose.
Willow Rose Foundation for Diabetes is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and holds an active Australian Business Number.
