Get Involved

Willow Rose runs entirely on volunteer energy. A few hours of your time can make a genuine difference to a family living with diabetes.

Find the way that suits you

No special skills needed — just a willingness to help. Here are the most common ways our community pitches in.

Volunteers working together at a fundraising event

Volunteer at a Sausage Sizzle

Our Bunnings fundraisers need cooks, servers and friendly faces. Shifts run 2–3 hours, everything is provided, and it's genuinely good fun. Perfect for first-time volunteers, families and workplace groups.

Volunteers assembling essential packs

Help Pack Essential Packs

Join a packing day and help assemble Diabetes Essential Packs for newly diagnosed families. You can also donate suitable items — juice poppers, glucose tabs, small carry cases and sealed low-GI snacks.

People connecting at a community event

Support Community Events

Help set up family days, welcome newcomers, or organise a coeliac-friendly morning tea. If you live with diabetes yourself, your lived experience is one of the most valuable things you can share.

Not able to volunteer in person?

There are plenty of other ways to support families living with diabetes:

  • Spread the word — follow and share our updates so more newly diagnosed families find us when they need us most
  • Workplace support — nominate Willow Rose for your workplace giving, matched-giving or community grant program
  • In-kind donations — local businesses can donate goods for events and Essential Packs
  • Know the signs — learn the 4 T's of type 1 diabetes (Toilet, Thirsty, Tired, Thinner) and share them; early recognition prevents serious illness
